That does sound far-fetched as most finance and accounting professionals assume they will always report to actual human bosses. In what may be a first, a Chinese technology company has appointed an AI virtual humanoid robot as a rotating CEO for one of its key divisions. The company is NetDragon.
…building internet communities with a long track record of developing and scaling multiple internet and mobile platforms that impact hundreds of millions of users, including previous establishments of China’s first online gaming portal, 17173.com, and China’s most influential smartphone app store platform, 91 Wireless.
If a robot can make business decisions as a CEO, could it also manage the office of the CFO?
It's difficult to know if this is a legitimate business strategy and bet on where AI already is today, or if done for publicity purposes. Either way, they may not be the last to embark on this trend.
